INTERNSHIPS FOR B.TECH STUDENTS | TIFAC




Introduction

Technology Information Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) is an autonomous body under the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India mandated to examine and evaluate existing state of art technology and directions of future technology developments. Since its inception in 1988, TIFAC has played an important role in the country's technology space through technology foresight and assessment exercises, technology information services and demonstrating models of technology development through academia-industry interaction. In the process, TIFAC has also shaped itself into a vibrant knowledge network in action. TIFAC had carried out the Technology Vision 2020 exercise during 1993-96, and as an outcome of this, several mission mode programmes were launched in the areas of agriculture and Agro Food Processing, Road Transportation, Textile Machineries, Healthcare and creation of Centres of Excellences in academic institutions. Further, TIFAC is now engaged in Technology Vision 2035. Apart from these, TIFAC has specific programmes related to the technology needs of Micro Small and Medium industries, technology foresight studies in the automotive sector, solar PV technology, bioprocess and bio products etc.

TIFAC invites application from eligible students for internship. Each intern will be given a specific assignment from the areas identified as priority by TIFAC.

Eligibility


Candidates pursuing B.Tech/ M.Sc/ M.Tech/MBA/MCA courses are eligible to apply for the internship. B.Tech students must have been successfully completed four semesters or appeared for fourth semester examinations. For specific relevant disciplines please refer to the section “Available Vacancy” below.

Duration


Duration of internship will be up to a maximum of 12 months for M.Tech students and 6 months for others.

Token Remuneration


B.Tech/ M.Sc: Token remuneration @Rs.10,000/- per month per intern

M.Tech/ MBA: Token remuneration @Rs.12,000/- per month per intern

Submission of Report


The interns will be required to present to the concerned Head of the Division a report on the assignment at the end of the internship. Simultaneously they will also be required to give to the Executive Director, TIFAC mandatory feedback on their experience during the internship.

Other important points


1. No accommodation facility will be provided to interns

2. Internees should be available on full time basis during the internship period
